Her husband Vince and daughter Devon also ride, and are her committed support crew at most competitions.

Carolyn's major successes in the past have been twice placing third nationally, in the Amateur Rider Awards, before becoming ineligible to compete in them by riding above Level 5.

Last season Carolyn was awarded a Kiwispan Dressage NZ Scholarship, in recognition of her success with her young Clyde/TB mare, Ella Vation. This season Carolyn and five year old Ella are competing at Level 3. So far they have won the Auckland Manukau Spring Series Trophy for Level 3 and were Level 3 Champions at the Auckland Manukau Festival of Dressage in December 2007.

Greendowns Carrington is Carolyn's other horse. He is 18 years old and they are competing at Level 5 and 6.

Carolyn also has two promising two year old fillies, who are currently being broken in. Razzle is by Ramazotti, out of Vince's Clyde/TB showjumping mare, November Impulsion. Wicket is by Ella Vation's half brother, Ash Haven Wiseguy out of a TB mare. Both young horses have expressive movement and very trainable temperaments.
